The Federal Energy Efficiency Tax Credit program is run by the IRS. At the end of 2008, our national legislature created a law to extend the expired program to the 2009 tax year. This program provides individuals who have installed a high efficiency system in the 2009 calendar year the ability to deduct a set amount from their income taxes. Different equipment combinations yield different amounts available for deduction. Currently the formula for calculating this amount is up for revision. Under the current proposal that has been approved in committee and the House of Representatives, allows qualifying homeowners a maximum energy tax credit of $1,500 deducted off their 2009 income taxes.
The “I want a bail out!” Giveaway does not guarantee an income tax deduction of any amount. However, the winner will receive a system that meets the current tax law qualifications (as of 02/05/09) of 15 SEER and 12.5 EER to receive income tax credit on their 2009 taxes. Aardvark A/C & Heating will provide the winner with the required information to certify that their new system meets a minimum efficiency of 15 SEER and 12.5 EER. If qualifications change, system may be eligible for other energy tax credits. Prize is an American Standard High Efficiency System (minimum 15 SEER, 12.5 EER) any possible changes to tax law will not change this. Tax credit or benefit is not a part of the prize or guaranteed to winner. For Full Terms and Conditions and how the giveaway is effected by the Federal Energy Tax Credit program, Click Here
