Since of inception, Aardvark Air Conditioning and Heating has always maintained a commitment to protecting, preserving, and promoting wise use of our environment and it’s resources.
Formalizing this commitment we pledge to maintain a company culture where environmental excellence is second nature. Our mission is to fully integrate environmental stewardship into the business of providing excellent products, outstanding service, and exceptional value. We have established the following environmental policy objectives to achieve our vision and mission.
Use Products and Technology with the Environment in Mind
• Use technology and products with a focus on: safe operation throughout the entire product life cycle, extending product life span, reducing energy consumption, avoiding environmentally sensitive materials, promoting dematerialization, and using parts that are capable of being recycled at the highest level.

Greenhouse Gas Protection
The refrigerant in modern air conditioning systems creates CFC when released into the atmosphere. In order to reduce environmental impact we always recycle refrigerants and only release “de minimus” when necessary for the service of air conditioning systems in accordance with federal law.
We promote, install, and service new environmentally friendly air conditioning systems. These products use a more environmentally friendly refrigerant than those commonly installed and serviced. Unfortunately refrigerant must be released in order to service modern air conditioning and heating systems. By minimizing the amount released and promoting less damaging refrigerants we do what we can to protect against the release of greenhouse gases.
Wise Use of Resources
A lot of waste is created in the service and installation of air conditioning and heating systems. Dedicated to conservation and recycling we have created procedures to minimize and reuse as much material as possible.
- We recycle 100% of the cardboard that equipment, parts, and other supplies arrive in.
- We recycle 100% of all equipment and parts entrusted to us for safe disposal.
- We remove and recycle all refrigerant from recycled equipment before disposal in ensure proper handling and guarantee of reprocessing through an EPA approved facility.
- Promoted the adoption of a paperless office environment, working to adopt new technology to promote productivity while reducing the unnecessary use of paper.
Promotion of Community Greenspace
The preservation of our forest and creation of places where the community can enjoy, use, and protect our natural surroundings is near and dear to our hearts. Our proudest accomplishment has been the preservation of forest at our offices. In 2005, our growth necessitated the need to expand to a larger location. Moving to 11111 Neeshaw we acquired forested land, some of the last in northwest Houston. Intent on preserving what we could, we did not clear-cut our property. Instead we cleared only what necessary to build the required office and warehouse space. In our planning for future growth and expansion we set aside a portion of our natural forest to preserve for perpetuity. We also have supported other community projects committed to the preservation and community use of greenspace such as the Matzke Park Project.
